Mitchell is an ardent and creative architect, motivated by opportunities for joy and realising innovative, inclusive and sustainable design outcomes. He approaches each project with curiosity and humility, nurturing collaborative partnerships to develop projects that are specific, authentic, and purposeful.

Mitchell’s quiet casualness belies methods that are serious and responsive. While informed by a wide range of design references, his work is more attuned to the beauty of the everyday, a particular understanding of place, and the way buildings are put together. His projects are layered, bespoke and a pleasure to inhabit.

Mitchell is a registered Architect with almost 20 years of experience delivering successful, award-winning residential and public projects. Mitchell has been a valued member of Aileen Sage since 2017 and became an associate in 2019. During this time, Mitchell has worked on a wide range of projects, including private homes for families, public projects, competition entries, multi-residential developments, and installations. Mitchell currently leads the design and delivery of residential projects within the studio.

Mitchell brings an inspiring enthusiasm for continual and shared architectural education and a strong culture of mentorship within the studio. He has tutored in design at both the University of New South Wales and the University of Sydney.
