Eren has a strong interest in material and craft. She is particularly focused on understanding material origins, their impact on spatial quality, and their environmental implications beyond the project site.
A natural and enthusiastic collaborator, Eren has led a number of our larger projects which have been delivered with collaborating partners. She has worked extensively with both directors, leading large subconsultant teams in the delivery of complex projects of varying scales.
Eren joined Aileen Sage in 2019, having been taught by Isabelle and Amelia in the final year of her Master’s degree at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS). She gained her Masters degree from UTS in 2016, having studied as an undergraduate at both the University of Canberra (UC) and the University of Newcastle (UoN). She also travelled to Rome and studied at the Istituto Europeo di Design and travelled to Japan as part of her studies. This diversity of education gave Eren an unique perspective on the breadth of architectural practice, whilst her student projects explored ideas of community, place and scale. During her education she was awarded the Deans Award (UC, 2012 & 2013), the Object Award (UTS, 2016) and shortlisted for the AIA Structural Innovation Award (2016).
Outside of professional practice, Eren remains actively involved in architectural education. She has tutored in the undergraduate architecture course at UTS and regularly participates as a guest critic in studio reviews at both UTS and the University of Sydney. She is also a keen maker; often with various furniture, homeware, sewing and other miscellaneous projects underway.
